A commission with The Vintage Peony Store is a collaborative process — you bring the vision and I’ll create a beautifully finished piece that’s designed to live in your home for years to come. I’m a Stag Minstrel specialist and work with a range of quality vintage furniture, transforming each piece with careful preparation, considered colour, and durable finishing.

Prep That Makes It Last


Every piece is thoroughly cleaned, carefully prepped and repaired where needed — the part you don’t always see, but the part that makes the finish smooth and durable.

Stag Minstrel is a speciality, and in addition, I regularly work on cocktail cabinets, tallboys, chests of drawers, bedside cabinets, dressing tables and sideboards — plus other quality vintage pieces.

How does a furniture commission work?


Send me a few photos and rough measurements to info@thevintagepeonystore.co.uk plus your ideas (style/colours). I’ll come back with options, a quote and timeframe - then we agree the design and I get started.

Can I see examples of your work?


Absolutely — you’ll find before/afters on the website and socials (@thevintagepeonystore) and I’m happy to share similar projects to your style for inspiration.

How much does a furniture commission cost?

Pricing depends on the piece (size, prep, repairs and finish). A dressing table for example would be in the region of £565, a tall boy chest of drawers in the region of £485.00 and bed side tables range between £295 and £425 for a pair. This is normally if I am sourcing the piece of furniture on your behalf.

There are are many variables, so please message me for a tailored quote.

How do I book and pay?


A booking deposit of 50% of the project total secures your project start date with the balance due before collection/delivery. I’ll send payment details and keep you updated throughout the process.

Lead times & delivery

Lead times vary depending on my diary and the complexity of the work. At the moment it’s typically 3-5 weeks from the project commencing - I’ll confirm your timeframe before you book.


Transportation - collection and delivery is available. I will either do this myself or use my trusted and fully insured courier company depending on location and piece size. Delivery costs are quoted individually.



Can you colour match my room?


Yes — I can work from paint references, fabrics, wallpaper or photos to create a finish that suits your space (and I’ll guide you on tones that work best with your lighting).

Do you source pieces of furniture?


Both! I can transform a piece you already own, or I can source the right vintage piece for you (subject to your availability and budget).

How durable is the finish


All pieces of furniture are professionally prepped and sealed for everyday living. I’ll also include simple aftercare tips to keep it looking beautiful for many years to come.

I’m based in Cambridge, and I work with clients locally and across the whole of the UK (delivery can be arranged).
